VitalYOU
Our Why

Too many people settle for “normal” when they know they could feel better.

What medicine knows how to answer.

There are really only two questions the current health system knows how to answer well. Are you sick? And will you get sick?

Your GP answers the first one. Bloods come back, nothing’s flagged, you’re told you’re fine. That system catches disease and saves lives. But it was never designed to explain why you can’t think clearly after 2pm, or why you’re training harder and recovering slower.

Longevity clinics answer the second. Biological age, disease risk, epigenetics. Valuable work, but focused on living longer. If what you actually want is to feel sharper and recover faster now, that’s a different question.

The third question, almost nobody is asking.

There’s a question that sits between those two, and almost nobody is asking it.

Is your biology actually performing?

Not are you sick. Not will you get sick. Are the systems that govern how you feel and function right now actually working the way they should be?

Figure behind frosted glass — the space between sick and well

The conviction that built this clinic.

The gap between “not sick” and “actually well” is a clinical problem. It sits across multiple biological systems, and no single medical specialty was designed to see all of them together.

VitalYOU was built by assembling doctors from different disciplines into one clinical team: critical care, general practice, performance medicine. One conviction held it together. The person who isn’t sick but isn’t right deserves better than a normal result and a shrug.

Most people who find us aren’t chasing a longer life. They want to feel like themselves again. Their energy, their thinking, their recovery. They’ve been functioning, but noticeably worse than a few years ago, and they’ve quietly accepted that as normal.

It isn’t.

What we believe, plainly.

Declining vitality has biological causes. Those causes are measurable. And for most people, they’re fixable.

That’s worth a proper clinical service, not a blood test and a supplement recommendation.

A health system where “not sick” is the starting point, not the finish line.

Silhouetted figures — a different standard for what healthy means

How we’re different, in practice.

One doctor. All six systems.

Your doctor reviews your hormonal, metabolic, inflammatory, sleep, gut, and neurotransmitter markers together, in one consultation. One clinician, the complete picture, and the clinical tools to act on it.

Doctors who review before they consult.

Your results are reviewed before your consultation, not during it. When you speak to your doctor, they’ve already spent time with your data.

Performance ranges, not just reference ranges.

Standard blood tests check whether you’re sick. VitalYOU checks whether your biology is performing. The difference between those two questions is often where the answer lives.

Vitality is the goal.

You are the reason..

Doctor-led. Australian-registered.

What does “not sick but not right” actually mean?

+

It’s the gap between passing a standard blood test and actually feeling well. You might have normal results but still experience fatigue, brain fog, poor recovery, or a general sense that something has changed. VitalYOU’s assessment is designed to investigate that gap.

Where do your performance ranges come from?

+

They’re developed by VitalYOU’s clinical team using peer-reviewed research, published reference interval studies, and clinical guidelines. Each range is reviewed and approved by our Medical Director, and updated as new evidence emerges. The goal is to identify where your biology is underperforming, not just whether it falls within a standard laboratory range.

Who oversees the clinical model?

+

Dr Yash Wimalasena, VitalYOU’s Medical Director. He’s a dual Fellow of the Australasian and UK Colleges of Emergency Medicine, and a Clinical Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney. His role is independent governance: he approves every doctor before they join, runs fortnightly case reviews across the team, and oversees every clinical protocol. He doesn’t prescribe, so his only job is making sure the standard of care is right.

How does the clinical model stay current?

+

Each of VitalYOU’s six biological systems is owned by a doctor on the team who maintains the protocol set, reviews emerging research, and proposes updates quarterly. The Medical Director signs off on every change. It’s a structure designed to keep the clinical model evolving with the evidence, not locked to a launch-day playbook.

What happens after the initial consultation?

+

Your doctor sets a follow-up schedule based on your results, including which biomarkers to retest and when. Most patients have a follow-up at around three months. Follow-up consultations are shorter and priced separately from the initial assessment. Your full history stays with VitalYOU, so any doctor on the team can pick up where the last one left off.

Does VitalYOU replace my GP?

+

No. Your GP manages disease, acute care, and general health. VitalYOU investigates the biological systems that drive how you feel day to day. The two work alongside each other.
