What We Test
What you’re feeling mapped to what’s happening in your blood.
Your intake captures your symptoms, history, and what you’ve already tried. The blood panel measures 80+ biomarkers across six biological systems against performance ranges. Your doctor reads both before your consultation.
Biological Age Testing
Your calendar age isn’t the whole story.
Biological age measures how your body is functioning compared to your chronological age. Two people born in the same year can have biological ages a decade apart, driven by lifestyle, inflammation, metabolic health, and the ways your cells are ageing underneath all of it.
VitalYOU includes DNAm PhenoAge in every panel. It’s a biological age measure based on DNA methylation, the chemical changes that affect how your genes are expressed. Different biological age tools produce different numbers. DNAm PhenoAge has strong published evidence for healthspan and ageing trajectory.
It’s also a number you can move. For most people retested at six to twelve months, DNAm PhenoAge is the clearest signal that something is working.
The science
The 6 Core Biological Systems.
Your Energy, Mental Performance, and Resilience are the outcomes. They’re what you experience every day. But they’re driven by 6 biological systems operating underneath. When one or more of these systems is out of balance, the effects show up as the patterns in your scores.
What It Controls
Energy, mood, cognitive clarity, recovery, body composition, stress resilience
Key Markers We Measure
Thyroid Panel (TSH, Free T3, Free T4), Testosterone (Total, Free & Bioavailable), SHBG, Free Androgen Index, Cortisol (8am), IGF-1, LH, Oestradiol, Progesterone
Why It Matters
Suboptimal testosterone or thyroid function can erode energy, drive, and recovery capacity long before the numbers fall outside a standard reference range. Cortisol imbalance affects stress resilience and sleep. Hormonal decline rarely explains how you feel on its own. It's usually the combination, and the combination is measurable.
A comprehensive blood panel is the only way to see how your biological systems are working together. 80+ biomarkers, interpreted across six systems, against ranges designed for performance, not just disease detection.
System 01 · Key Markers
Inside Hormonal Regulation.
Hormones are your body's operating system. Testosterone regulates energy production, muscle recovery, and cognitive clarity in both men and women. Oestrogen, thyroid hormones, and cortisol govern mood stability, metabolic rate, and stress resilience. SHBG determines how much of your testosterone is actually available for your body to use. These shift gradually with age, often while you still feel like you're coping, and when they fall out of balance the effects ripple across energy, sleep, body composition, and mood. They rarely shift in isolation. A change in one typically pulls the others with it.
The four below are the markers your doctor starts with. The full panel tests more.
Plus the rest of the hormonal panel: Free T4, Free Testosterone, Bioavailable Testosterone, SHBG, FAI, LH, IGF-1, DHEA-S, Oestradiol, Progesterone, Prolactin.

Got Questions?
We have the answers
Why 80+ biomarkers?
+Fatigue, brain fog, and declining performance rarely come from a single marker. They sit at the intersection of hormonal, metabolic, inflammatory, sleep, gut, and neurotransmitter systems. Testing across all six in a single panel is the only way to see how they interact. A smaller panel answers a narrower question.
How are results interpreted?
+Your doctor reviews every marker in the context of your other results, not in isolation. A ferritin level means something different alongside your inflammatory markers, thyroid function, and hormonal profile than it does on its own. The consultation is built around these connections.
What are performance ranges?
+Standard reference ranges represent the middle 95% of results from a general population sample. They tell you whether you’re sick. Performance ranges are narrower and reflect the levels at which your body functions well, not just the levels at which disease is absent. The difference between the two is often where the explanation for how you feel sits.
How is biological age calculated?
+Biological age is measured using DNAm PhenoAge, included in every panel. It’s based on DNA methylation, the chemical changes that affect how your genes are expressed. Different biological age tools produce different numbers. DNAm PhenoAge has strong published evidence for healthspan and ageing trajectory.
How often should I retest?
+It depends on what we find and what you’re working on. Some patients retest as early as six weeks. For most, a follow-up consultation at around three months uses a narrower set of markers to check progress. A full retest is usually at six or twelve months. Follow-up consultations are shorter and priced separately from the initial assessment.
Does VitalYOU replace my GP?
+No. Your GP manages disease, acute care, and general health. VitalYOU investigates the biological systems that drive how you feel and perform day to day.
What happens if a result needs urgent attention?
+If your panel identifies something that requires immediate clinical action, you will be contacted directly and guided on next steps, including referral to an appropriate specialist if needed.
